   The other driver does not see you.

   Of fatal crashes between a motorcycle and one other vehicle, 46% were the other vehicle turning left across a rider going straight. European in-depth casework puts driver perception failure alone at 36% of all cases. It is the most replicated finding in the field, holding across forty years and two continents.

   Vizra cannot put you in that driver's mirrors, and it does not pretend to. What it can do is put you on the map of every rider around you, so the people who are actually looking for bikes know where you are.

2. 02

   The dangerous curve is the one that does not look dangerous.

   A study matching 1,601 crashes against 16,010 control sites over eleven years found that riders slow down for corners that look sharp and for pavement that looks bad. The corners that catch people are the ones that read as gentle.

   Routes carry the crash history of the roads in them before you set off. It reports what a public dataset recorded and nothing more, which on fatal-crash data means riders have died here, not crashes happen here.

   Most of the delay is before the ambulance.

   Trauma surgeons reviewing 60 motorcycle deaths at the scene judged 19 of them potentially survivable, with the airway the cause in 14. Rural crash response runs 15 to 23 minutes longer than urban. The clock that matters starts when somebody knows, and for a rider alone on a road, that can be a long time after the crash.

   Hold SOS and the beacon goes to your pack and to every rider nearby, carrying your position and a route to you. A rider half a mile back is often closer than anything dispatched from town.

4. 04

   Cars got automatic crash calls. Motorcycles were left out.

   Europe wrote emergency call systems into every new vehicle in 2015. The regulation applies by vehicle category, and it covers passenger cars and light vans. Motorcycles are excluded from it entirely.

   That exclusion is most of the reason this app exists. The rider who most needs somebody to know is the one nobody legislated for.
